They say your mind is the clearest right before you fall asleep...

I've barely written anything on this blog, so here it goes...
Two months is a long time to be on tour. Toward the end I was so scatterbrained; I misplaced my phone and keys, forgot my face wash in a shower and had to awkwardly ask someone to hand it out to me. I'm usually so anal about being organized when I travel, but I just lost it for some reason. It was interesting to read Down and Out in Paris and London by George Orwell while on tour. It's about a poor, homeless guy who works as a dishwasher in Paris and travels through the London slums. He describes the horrors of the restaurant industry and the perils of homeless shelters. Being poor and homeless automatically limited his sex life to prostitutes and/or homosexuality. Marriage was out of the question. I know I'm definitely not in that situation (yet) but I could relate to some of what he was saying. It shared themes of 1984's working class alcohol dependency (victory gin) by showing that what little money these blue collar laborers made was spent in pubs (male only) after work. It's sickening to see how alcohol oppresses already oppressed people.

At the risk of going off on a rant, I leave you with this: "When life gives you lemons, just say 'Fuck the lemons,' and bail." (sorry, all I can think about is Paul Rudd)
